Best Trainee Awards
Anastasia Karerina and Jesslyn, Hotel & Tourism students of semester 3, have proven to be exceptional interns after being selected to received the 'Best Trainee Award' in their respective hotel.
Anastasia received the 'Best Trainee in Rooms Division' from one of the best 5 star hotels in Jakarta namely The Ritz Carlton Mega Kuningan, while Jesslyn received the 'Best Trainee' Award from another 5 stars hotel namely The Intercontinental Hotel.
SGU IT Faculty Welcomes Students from the Civismo Foundation
After a cooperation agreement between Civismo Foundation and the SGU Faculty of IT in November 2011, SGU invited the students under Civismo Foundation’s supervision from the Muhammadiyah Rawamangun Orphanage and Bina Insan Tangerang School (BINTANG) on 4th of January for a workshop to equip the students with some IT skills. The workshop was divided in two different sessions, which were “Multimedia Productivity Workshop” and “Hardware and Software Computer Installation Workshop”.

The number of Internet users in Indonesia is expected to reach around 50 million by the year 2015 (current Indonesia Internet users’ stats according tohttp://www.internetworldstats.com/stats3.htm#asia) and, with the number of web sites being hacked increasing exponentially (http://zone-h.org), the risk involved in using Internet services has never been greater. The IT Faculty of Swiss German University, one of the leading universities in the area of Information Security, conducted an Internet Security Workshop at SMAK1 Penabur Jakarta on the 9th December 2011, as a part of the school’s one-day life skills workshop.
SGU IT Faculty Workshops on Malware Lab and Malware HackTROY
According to the Computer Security Institute Survey 2010 (http://gocsi.com), information security attacks using malware are still the number one ranked attacks in the cyber world. Malware attacks are also getting more sophisticated, making them more difficult to handle. Therefore, there is an urgent need to equip students and the general public with the knowledge of the latest developments in malware technology and of how we can apply countermeasures against these malware attacks.

On 2 December 2011 Swiss German University was visited by JOY Magazine to their program “JOY Goes to Campus”. The program was opened by Ms. Raina Safira Zakhra, General Manager Marketing DestinAsian Media Group.
