General Report: 13th International Workshop
The first time I heard the word ‘workshop’ was at a farewell party in SGU when Mr.Kho explained it to us (parents and students). He explained that a workshop was often a business simulation game. Mr.Kho also said that we could have a European trip during which we would visit several interesting places such as historical buildings and well-known factories. After I heard some more explanations from Mr.Kho, I decided to join in. But still, I was confused about what the game would be like.
First of all, I want to share with you my daily experience in the workshop.

Malware Analysis Workshop To Raise Student Awareness of Internet Security
SGU, 11 June 2010. Among the ever increasing number of security threats to the Internet, malicious software (malware) has become the largest threat to Internet users today. The way malware works has changed over the years and what worked before is no longer effective today. Hence, it is important to be able to determine whether any binaries are truly harmful without relying on automated scanning engines. To create interest and train IT students, the IT faculty organized a unique full day event, MALWARE ANALYSIS WORKHOP, on 15th May 2010, in building B, Swiss German University, where students had an opportunity to learn how to perform malware analysis using the readily available open source tools.
