Schools English Competition 20 November, 2010
First of all, we would like to thank all the schools that took part in our third schools English competition. It was successful, and it was great to see 11 schools represented with a total of 66 participants. It was also wonderful that many friends and teachers could find the time to accompany the students, who were a real credit to their schools.
Between Theory and Applications: Universities with International Cooperation
Ezmieralda Melissa, a lecturer at the Swiss German University (SGU), Serpong, Banten. She said SGU takes the form of the university of applied sciences such as universities in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. In this case students are not only given the theory in the classroom, but also required to follow the internship. At SGU, students in third semester has to do internship in companies in Indonesia. While in the sixth semester internship will be done abroad mostly in Germany or Switzerland. The following interview Wimar Witoelar with Ezmieralda Melissa in Bahasa Indonesia.
SGU International Business Administration students awarded First Winner of Indonesia Marketing Competition (IMOTION 2010) Marketing Plan
On November 9-11, 2010, the Management Student Society (MSS) of the Faculty of Economics University of Indonesia held the fourth (4th) Indonesia Marketing Competition (IMOTION) Marketing Plan Competition with Range Rover at their campus in Depok, with the theme “Measuring the Effects of CSR on Consumer Behavior”.
Workshop idea: make your own e-shop
The IT Faculty of Swiss German University held an idea workshop on Saturday, 6 November 2010. This workshop is a part of two idea events. Another event is a seminar which will be held on Saturday, 20 November 2010 and the speakers are Raditya Dika (The Author of "Marmut Merah Jambu"), Satya Witoelar (The Founder Yahoo Koprol), Muhammad Rosihan (The Owner of "Saqina.com"), and Sketsa band (Gerald Situmorang and Dimas Wibisana).
Cooperation Between Tyco Electronics and IT Faculty of Swiss German University
As an Applied Science university, SGU in general and the IT faculty in particular are trying to establish cooperations, especially with vendors in the field of IT. In order to fulfill the needs, SGU especially, through the IT faculty, is cooperating one of the suppliers of IT, namely PT Tyco Precision Electronics. In late October 2010, MoU was signed by both parties.
