CommPR Lecturer Pursues PhD Abroad

Muninggar Sri Saraswati, a journalism lecturer at the Department of Communication and Public Relations of Swiss German University, is leaving for Australia to pursue her PhD at Murdoch University under the Indonesian Department of Higher Education’s scholarship scheme.

In the next four years, Muninggar will study Indonesian Cyber Political Journalism, supervised by one of the most well known scholars in Indonesian Studies, Professor David T. Hill.

“I am very interested to study this topic because I think in the future cyber journalism will dominate political movement in many societies, including Indonesia,” said Muninggar about her motivation. Muninggar hopes that the knowledge that she gains during her study will enrich the body of knowledge in the Indonesian Communication field.

Following her study, Muninggar will return to SGU to contribute her knowledge and skills to the development of the study program, particularly in its research dimension.

All staff and students will miss Muninggar and wish her all the best for her studies. At the same time, Muninggar’s scholarship will, hopefully, inspire other lecturers to pursue a higher degree.
