Guest from University of Technology Malaysia

Prof. Teddy Mantoro is a lecturer in University of Technology Malaysia. He graduated from The Australian National University, Canberra, Australia. He is an expert in Pervasive Computing, Ubiquitous Computing, and Ambience Intelligence. Fortunately we got the opportunity to meet him.

The guest lecturer’s topic is Ubiquitous Computing and Ambience Intelligence. It is about human-computer interaction in which information processing has been thoroughly integrated into daily life activities. The application could be like smart home, smart office, and so on. Furthermore through this system, it could also make energy consumption less, for example: in the night, when people are sleeping, smarthome application will make lamps automatically turn off and control AC temperature.

After Prof. Teddy Mantoro has given his guest lecture, we will have a curriculum review meeting to think about his perspective in relation to basic computer science and also training certification . The purpose of our curriculum review is to refresh/renew our latest curriculum which was made in 2007. We plan to implement a new curriculum review for intake 2014. He said that a Laboratorium research centre is very important. It is necessary for a research university.
