New German Ambassador to Indonesia visited SGU

The newly appointed German Ambassador to Indonesia, Timor Leste and ASEAN, Dr. Georg Witschel, visited the modern campus of Swiss German University at the EduTown complex in Tangerang on 6 November 2012. After in-depth talks to lecturers and students, the Ambassador expressed his appreciation for SGU as one of the most important academic bridges between Indonesia and Germany. “The university is a great example for up-to-date academic education and Indonesian-German-Swiss collaboration,” Dr. Witschel said.

The German Ambassador visited SGU’s new sports facilities, high-tech laboratories and modern classrooms. Along with lecturers and students, the Rector of Swiss German University, Prof. Dr. Martin Loeffelholz, warmly welcomed Dr. Witschel. “We are delighted to learn that in the future Indonesia and Germany will more intensively cooperate in the areas of research and higher education,” Prof. Loeffelholz stated. He added, “Being the first international University in Indonesia, SGU is keen to deepen the relations between the two countries.”
