SGU MBA Students "Joint-research program" with MIT-Sloan MBA students from MIT, Boston, USA

In January 2010, the SGU MBA-Business Engineering Students of Batch XV did a joint-research program with a small group of MIT-Sloan MBA students from MIT, Boston, USA. The objective of the cooperation was to examine the motorcycle market in Indonesia. The results of the research were used by Piaggio (the maker of Vespa motorcycles) to determine their brand positioning in Indonesia and in Asia, and to design their conjoint analysis of the market. The SGU MBA team did a focus group discussion, in which the team contacted relevant target market and encouraged local motorcycle club leaders to join in the discussions. The results and the findings of the focus group discussion were presented to executives from Piaggio, the company who sponsored the MIT-Sloan MBA team.
