SGU Librarian, the Third Best Provincial Librarian

The paper on “Information Literacy: the smart way to eliminate hoax news in the social media to the Z generation” has brought SGU librarian, Permadi Heru Prayogo 3rd place at the librarian competition in the provincial selection, which was held by the Local Bureau of Archives and Libraries (BPAD) on 9 August 2017 in Serang, Banten. The competition consisted of three stages: a written test about librarianship, knowledge about Banten Province, an English test, and a paper presentation. This year’s competition was participated in by 19 librarians from universities, schools and local bureaus which are located in the Banten area.

Mr. Permadi as the 3rd winner

Mr. Permadi chose this theme of how to eliminate hoax news  since there is  a lot of hoax news in the social media at the moment  but there is no basic knowledge to filter and identify  the right news. The knowledge should be given to the young generation or known as Z generation as earliest as possible by the librarian through the information literacy program. The judges  really appreciated the interactive presentation which was brought by Mr. Permadi because the theme was current and important to be known and applied by the other librarians.
