Small – Medium Enterprise Workshop from MBA Program SGU

On 1st April 2016, MBA Program Swiss German University held a Small Medium Enterprise (SME) Workshop with the theme of “Small – Medium Enterprise Workshop; A Better Understanding to Develop Your Business”. The workshop was part of MBA's community service program, which was led by MBA's lecturer, Dr. Badikenita Sitepu. The objective of this event was to de-brief Small Medium Enterprise Owner to be able to develop their business and to make them able to build networking in between Small Medium Enterprise Owner and the most important is to share insight from Business Owner. Participants of this event were Small Medium Enterprise Business Owner coordinated by The Indonesian Union of Christian Intellegensia (PIKI).

The event was opened with Indonesia Raya as our National Anthem. All participants were standing and singing Indonesia Raya solemnly. Opening speech was given by Prof. Eric J. Nasution as Dean of Faculty of Business administration and Humanities together with Parhimpunan Simatupang, MBA as Director of MBA Program and Bakti Nendra Prawiro, Msc, MH as the chairman of PIKI.

The first activity of this event was Entrepreneurship workshop, was given by Prof. Eric J Nasution and also Bakti Nendra Prawiro, Msc., MH. They gave enlightments to workshop participates about Indonesian's economic condition with its opportunity and also encouragement to start up their own business. Continued by Financial Inclusion explanation given by Margaretha TP Lingga, MM and Dr. Gregorius Irwan as SGU's finance lecturers. After having a lunch break at SGU's Mensa, participants continued their workshop with presentations to have more understanding on a Business market by Dr. Badikenita Sitepu, which was accompanied by Ir. Martien Luther as one of SME Business Owner, sharing his best experiences on developing his business market.

The last event after a coffee break was capacity building by Parhimpunan Simatupang, MBA. Participants were having capacity building games and exposure how to strengthen their teamwork, leadership, communication and other soft skills needed to build a business. The event was wrapped up and closed by DR Edy Siswoyo, MA from PIKI, as Moderator.
