Visit from Faculty of Applied Science Telkom University to Bachelor of Mechatronics Swiss German University

On Monday February 9, 2015, five members of a delegation from Faculty of Applied Science Telkom University paid a visit to the Swiss German University Study Program – Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering concentration of Mechatronics (SGU-BMt), to do benchmarking of SGU-BMt best practices. This visit was the realization of a request from the Dean of Faculty of Applied Science, Telkom University to the Dean of Faculty of Engineering and IT, SGU (FEIT).

The delegation was warmly welcomed by the Dean of Faculty of Engineering and IT (FEIT), Dr. Ir. Gembong Baskoro, M.Sc. accompanied by Head of Master of Mechanical Engineering (MME), Prof. Ir. Houtman P. Siregar, M.Si., Ph.D., Head of Master of Information Technology (MIT), Dr. Ir. Moh. A. Amin Soetomo, M.Sc. and Head of Bachelor of Mechatronics, Leonard P. Rusli, BS, MS, Ph.D. Lunch together followed. After this welcome, the session proceeded with a general presentation of the FEIT by the Dean continued with discussion and an exchange of ideas regarding issues and best practices in managing engineering study programs especially under the recent Indonesia Higher Education Institution law. During the discussion, the delegation of Telkom University expressed their appreciation and respect to FEIT. They also specifically valued the development of the Bachelor of Mechatronics SGU since its establishment in the year 2000 in shaping engineering education in Indonesia especially in the field of Mechatronics. No wonder that the delegation were very interested to learn the BMt-SGU best practices. The visit continued with a walk-down to some facilities and took a look at some BMt-SGU student projects results. Finally the visit was closed by exchanging tokens of appreciation.
