The Winners of SGU High School English Challenge

Last October, Swiss German University (SGU) organized a fun competition for high school students, entitled ‘The SGU High School English Challenge 2017’ with the theme ‘The Natural World’. The annual competition invites high school students from grade 10 to 12 around JABODETABEK area to compete in the fun and informal event. The objectives of this event are to showcase the English talent of Indonesian students, to encourage the students to continue speaking and learning the international language of communications and business, to intellectually and creatively challenge Indonesian students through the medium of English, and to develop the soft skills and confidence of Indonesian students. The venue of this event was at SGU campus, Alam Sutera and was organized by the English team.

This year there were a total of four event categories: two team challenges (Battle of the Brains and Grammar/Vocab Quiz), and two individual challenges (Spelling Bee and Creative Writing). The participants were so excited and enthusiastic during the competition because they love English so much.
