Feraldo Lim and Raira Bhaskara, students from Mechatronics together with Rian as bionic arm patient to replace his amputated hand. Before having the bionic arm, Rian’s fake hand was only able to grasp mechanically and cannot be controlled by the muscles. The bionic arm is paired with a Myo Armband sensor that is able to detect nerves so that the bionic arm can grasp with the brain’s command through the muscle nerves that are still active. The making of this robot hand was carried out as a thesis research project and student creativity program at SGU. The bionic arm project was sponsored by Rotary Club Indonesia, Helping Hands Foundation, SGU Community Service department, and 3D Solutions 3D Printing.
